Bob Wallace – Owner & Managing Director

  • Sole owner and Director of CFS.
  • More than 40 years of experience in the industry.
  • Queensland President, Director Business & Freight Operations and 2 terms as Chairman of the CBFCA  (Customs Brokers & Forwarders Council of Australia)

Bob commenced in the industry in 1969 and obtained his Customs Brokers License in 1974 after working overseas for three years and passing his license examination in London in 1972. He holds a current Customs Brokers License and an Advanced Diploma of Australian and International Trade Facilitation. Through Bob’s experience and active participation in the industry over many years, he has held positions on industry boards and has represented the industry in many Australian Government initiatives including the implementation of Electronic Systems with Australian Customs and Bio-Security (Quarantine) Services.

Bob has been dedicated to the continued professionalism of our industry and has a firm commitment to both industry and the statutory government bodies to produce systems that are vital to the movement of cargo across our borders both imports and exports.

Anne Stiles – General Manager

  • More than 14 years’ experience in the industry.
  • Member of CBFCA (Customs Brokers & Forwarders Council of Australia).
  • Member of WISTA (Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association).

Starting with CFS as an Executive Assistant to the owner at the time, Anne brought with her knowledge of both the insurance and IT industries. Over the subsequent years with CFS Anne gained knowledge and contributed in the overall success of the business in the areas of finance, administration, insurance, IT, HR and operations.

In 2015 Anne took on the role of General Manager to oversee all areas of the business. Her leadership and passion for outstanding customer service led the business to offer a rewarding experience for customers.

Anne’s belief in her team and constant support through shared values and standards of customer service, have enhanced their continuous drive to excel within the industry.

Glenn Hudson – Customs Broker Manager

  • Customs Import and Operations Manager.
  • Licenced Customs Broker since 1989 and fully accredited with Quarantine (DAWR).
  • More than 35 years industry experience and knowledge.
  • Senior Associate Member of the CBFCA (Customs Brokers & Forwarders Council of Australia).

With a career that commenced in the busy air freight import cargo sector in Sydney, in the early Eighties, Glenn acquired his license in 1989 after successfully completing his course of educational training. 

The move to Brisbane in late 1993 saw him commence with CFS where he continues operating as a practising Licensed Broker to this day.

More recently, Glenn has taken on more consultative roles, working with small importers to large Multi-National Traders in providing advice and solutions to Australian Border Compliance and International Trade Logistics issues, especially in the areas of Free Trade Agreement, Tariff Concession Orders and By-Law opportunities.  

 

The CFS Story

The Customs & Forwarding Services’ story started back in 1982 in a small office in Berwick Street, Fortitude Valley.  The owner at the time, Philip Mortiss, after working in the industry since 1974 for a Multi-National company could see that there was a niche market for a company that could offer genuine customer service and could add value to the customers’ business by being an extension of their sales, logistics and/or purchasing departments.

Since its inception CFS has followed a program of steady growth, quality control and ethical management resulting in adding warehousing to their services in 1983 and then in 1996 moving into their offices in Bowen Hills.

Recognition, Collaboration & Expansion
 

In early 2015 Bob Wallace who has been an essential contributor to the industry, offered to purchase the company from Phil with the promise to carry on the business according to Phil’s founding values. Bob Wallace brought new technology and the availability of additional assets (warehousing, cool rooms, transport, etc) to CFS which has enable the company to offer clients a Complete Solution.

In 2016 due to the growth of the company, CFS moved to Morningside allowing better space and a more functional infrastructure. In January 2018 CFS was accredited as an Australian Trusted Trader.

Today our dedicated, professional staff looks after the full suite of import and export shipping services that the international business community expects; • Import & export shipping – Airfreight & Sea freight (LCL/ FCL/ FAK) services • Small Parcel Courier Service – Both International & National • Warehousing & Transport Solutions, citywide, state-wide, nationwide & internationally. • Customs Brokerage Services • Customs Tariff Consultancy Services, including TCO.

To this day CFS still handles the vast majority of its original clients’ International Trade requirements, delivered in those originally defined ideals. CFS has become an extension of its clients order processing, a trusted partner that takes away the worries of the shipping process so they can concentrate on growing their business.
